Anyway, the long and short of it is, I think I want to make a costume based on Nala from The Lion King. [link]
I say based on because no matter how much attention I pay to detail I will not get it all accurate, not to mention the character is, I believe, meant to be played by someone of African decent...which I clearly am not. So I think I'm going to take a few liberties with it. But I still want to try to do handbeading on the corset. I think I might come up with something a cross between her child self and adult self though for the hair/headdress and avoid the lioness headdress piece unless I really come up with something good. Plus I just LOVE the way they do young Nala's hair [link] as if her two little braid-buns are ears.
