I made this costume for Shiva's "Sundae Best" Ponies group. All costumes in the group are based on the "Sundae Best" toy series and do not have any corresponding cartoon character to my knowledge. I made it in about 15 hours over the course of three days and am pretty proud of it. I based this costume largely around McCalls pattern 6322 with slight alterations. The sleeves and leg covers were all freehanded. For the symbol I made my own iron-on patches with wonder-under. I made the ears out of craft foam and the horn out of a painted seashell, all of which I hot glued some hairpins into to stick them into the wig, where I anchor them with more hairpins. The tail is a Sepia wig which was given to me by Stardust462.

MLP History:
With the popularity of the new FiM series, I find it important to note that the My Little Pony franchise began with toys, the first wave of which came out in 1982 (a later wave of which brought the ponies you see cosplayed here). There was later some TV specials and movies starting in 1984, the first TV series from 1986-87, and a second TV series in 1992. 3 more "generations" of MLP toys followed, all with their own style differences (I continue to prefer Generation1 ponies which were distributed between 1984 and 1992) and finally in 2010 the new series.

I love this shot and have it as my background image! I'm impressed that your costume took you only 15 hours to complete - it's so adorable!

I also wanted to thank you again for bring the original ponies that inspired our outfits. It was a real treat having them to pose with!

No problem! I collect MLPs so it was not out of my way to get those, and paired with doing the cosplay group of course I wanted them!

The costume was a fairly simple Simplicity pattern with almost no alterations done so it was very straightforward. I still need to re-do the leg guards so they're fuller tho.

Your outfit is *so* adorable as well! I love love love how it came out!
